The next generation of FLUXNET aims to extend and expand the previous database that is in circulation—the FLUXNET2015 dataset—and to transform and evolve the current websites and data archive and distribution systems. Major goals include:
- Serve the next generation of scientists, through providing unique exchange, training and networking opportunities. These opportunities will include a new Secondment program and a new FluxCourse Fellows program.
- Create a platform for new ideas to emerge, through workshops and international collaboration.
- Build the next generation of the FLUXNET database, which will be self-sustaining and serve a broader scientific community through the inclusion of a wider array of data, products and sites.
- Foster strong international community collaborations, with a particular focus on an approach that emphasizes equity and inclusion at all levels.
